Makati Rally - Feb. 29

No! I am not promoting it, but I have nothing against it either. So, why am I writing about it?

My mom sent me a text message a while ago informing me that there will be a big rally in Makati tomorrow. Who doesn't know, anyway? My mom, being her usual self, told me to be extra careful and to go home early. Now that I am getting married soon, I honestly appreciate such reminders from my parents.

Anyway, to those who cannot help but brave tomorrow's traffic, here's a guide to the closed roads and alternate routes. I don't want to write about my opinion anymore. There are already a lot of learned opinions out there.

Fernwood-- Kinda Excited ;)

I'm browsing through some of the pictures that I have taken during our "suppliers' days". Seeing the picture below made me feel excited about my wedding once again.

I am eagerly awaiting for the day when the same door will be opened especially for me. :)

Goodbye, Mr. Paulo Clemente

Wedding preparations may be stressful at times. One has to go through a lot of research, really. For a particular wedding detail alone, one has to meet several suppliers in order to know what each one has to offer. Meeting suppliers, however, is actually the better part of it.

One of the suppliers that I'm glad to have met was Mr. Paulo Clemente. His intention to help the couples in their wedding preparations was genuine. Even after informing him that we would no longer avail of the services of Angel's Wink, he still sent me some e-mails and text messages asking me how the wedding preparations have been going on. That genuine concern, I would say, is priceless. To the people, especially the brides, who had been witnesses to the kindness of Mr. Pau's heart, it is now the time to say our final goodbyes.

"Goodbye, Mr. Pau. The Wedding Community Will Surely Miss You."

To those who are in the middle of their wedding preparations, do enjoy your meetings with your prospective suppliers. You may not be able to book all of them, but you will surely win a new friend or two.

Wedding Cake

I've been searching for a wedding cake supplier lately. I found a site which offers "not your ordinary" wedding cakes. Considering that they are not yet that popular in the industry, their cakes might still be on the affordable side. Below are some of the cakes in their website that caught my attention:

Update: Upon inquiry, I was informed that they do make deliveries to Metro Manila clients.

I Lost My Cellphone!!!

I'm so sad now..I lost my cellphone.
Losing a cellphone nowadays would actually mean losing a part of oneself. One loses not only a gadget which is used in calling and texting. One loses the tons of contact numbers, pictures, schedules or even the sweet messages of a loved one that one has kept for a long time.

Well, my phone was not so high-tech. It's a Nokia 6280. What made it super special was the fact that I bought it with my first salary. That phone actually gave me a certain feeling of fulfillment. Well, sometimes one can really become so attached with small things.

The better part of it is realizing how much your loved ones care for you. Upon learning the loss of my phone, my dad volunteered to give me his extra phone. Again, it may just be such a small stuff for some. That, however, means a lot to me.

My Second Wedding Expo

Last September, I had the opportunity of experiencing the grandiose of the Wedding Expo. I was overwhelmed by the tons of brochures that were handed to the brides and grooms to be and the guests.

I am more excited in visiting the said wedding fair this March 8-9, 2008. Unlike last September, I now understand more of the details and nitty gritties of a wedding. It will now be easier to ask for the important aspects that must be handled by a certain supplier and to haggle for discounts or freebies.

To those who are still preparing for their weddings, now is the best time to book your suppliers. During the bridal fairs, suppliers are expected to give about 20% discount and/or freebies. You will also see mock-up settings for tables and flowers, among others.

Happy preps and I hope to see you there.

2007 Bar Exam Results

Last year, I was a constant visitor of Atty. Fred's site. I was one of those who patiently read every comment posted at Atty. Fred's site regarding the possible date of release of the results of the Bar Examinations.

Rather than being a very proud person, hurdling the Bar Examinations made me a humbler one. Of course, I was very grateful to God for giving me the blessing of passing the Bar Exams. After sharing the joy with my family, however, I got back to the reality that most of my friends didn't make it. Incomplete happiness - this was what I felt that time. I even felt guilty. But, being the nice persons that they are, my friends even congratulated me and asked me to celebrate the blessing that God has given me. Even in their grief, they understood how I felt. They didn't want to deprive me of the opportunity to be overfilled with happiness. I, however, simply cannot celebrate knowing that they were at their lowest.

Now that the results of the 2007 Bar Examinations will be coming out, I pray that they hurdle it this time. I know how hard it was to be taking the exams for the second time. May the Lord grant them the blessing of passing the 2007 Bar Examinations ( I have to be specific).

A New Beginning

Aside from this blog, this year will be a witness to several new beginnings in my life.

I will be one of the excited brides of the year 2008. After confirming our bookings with some of the major suppliers last year, we are now left with just the details of the wedding. Well, working on the details might not really be that easy. I'm not worried yet, though. I still have several months to work on those.

Getting married alone will already open the doors to several new beginnings in my life. For one, I will become a wife. I will start to live with my husband-to-be and I hope that living together will bring out more loving and joyful moments for us.

I will keep you posted on our wedding preparations. I hope to get some insights from you as well.

Starting It Out

Starting things out.

Just like any other thing, starting at a new activity in your life would require lots of patience, hard work and courage. Blogging, may have been around for years now, but I have to admit that it’s only this year that I have contemplated on seriously keeping one.

I had created a blog account about two years ago. After my first post, I already forgot what my username and password were. Now, seeing the blogs that I had visited at that time, I regret not having kept my previous blog. I could have, just like them, documented the things that happened in the past couple years. I could have shared with other people my opinions and views on certain matters.

Well, I know it is not too late yet. That’s the reason why I am here now. As they say, everything just needs some getting used to. I hope you will all be there to see me improve by the day and to remind me of my self-imposed undertaking to keep this blog.

Thanks and I hope to see you here often. Wink
